(School project for Digital Design Class)
Task: design a layout for an article about Fast Fashion. The goal is to clearly communicate the message of the article using a strong concept and appropriate visuals - typography and imagery. The visuals must support the type, and the type must support the visuals — and they both must support the concept.

THE THROW AWAY CULTURE

My concept is centered on mess and repetition - two words that are related to fast fashion.
I executed this by using collage work and circles. The mix and match mess of the collage work is representing trash, and the circles represent repetition, a continuous cycle.  I also incorporated doodles / illustration to give the article an authentic feel.

My visuals are a combination of photos and illustration, this adds to the messy feel because it is mixed media. The colors I used are black and very vibrant colors (to represent the urgency of the matter) that contrast to black so that it is bold and eye catching. What controls this mess is the black and white desaturation of the images I used, so that it’s not too messy.
